Supporting Compliance Across Key Sectors

Healthcare

Healthcare environments require the highest level of water safety management due to vulnerable patients and residents.

Our laboratory supports compliance companies working in:

  • Hospitals
  • Care homes and residential care facilities
  • Dental practices
  • GP surgeries and clinics

Routine microbiological water testing plays a critical role in detecting Legionella and other microbial risks, supporting water safety plans and ensuring systems are managed in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance.

Leisure and Hospitality

Hotels, leisure centres and spa facilities often operate complex water systems including pools, spas and decorative water features.

Our testing services help compliance providers monitor systems such as:

  • Spa pools and hydrotherapy pools
  • Swimming pools
  • Hotel hot and cold water systems
  • Decorative fountains and water features

Routine microbiological testing helps ensure these systems remain safe for guests and comply with recognised industry standards, including the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) guidelines for the safe management of swimming pools and spa pools.

Industrial Facilities

Industrial sites often operate large and complex water systems where proper monitoring is essential.

Our laboratory supports compliance companies working within:

  • Manufacturing plants
  • Production facilities
  • Cooling towers and process water systems

Regular microbiological testing helps ensure water treatment programmes remain effective and supports compliance with Legionella control guidance such as ACOP L8 and HSG274 Part 1 and Part 3, which cover evaporative cooling systems and other risk systems.

Facilities Management

Many compliance providers support facility management companies responsible for large and diverse property portfolios, often across multiple building types.

Our laboratory services support monitoring programmes aligned with industry guidance including:

  • BSRIA BG29 – Pre-commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems
  • BSRIA BG50 – Water Treatment for Closed Heating and Cooling Systems

To support these requirements, our UKAS-accredited laboratory can provide both:

  • Microbiological analysis – including Legionella and other bacteria monitoring
  • Chemical analysis – including corrosion indicators, inhibitor levels, and closed system water quality testing

This allows facility management providers to verify that both potable water systems and closed heating or cooling systems are being maintained in accordance with recognised industry best practice.

Social Housing

Housing providers have a duty to protect residents while managing large property portfolios with complex plumbing systems.

With increasing regulatory focus on housing conditions, including the introduction of Awaab’s Law, landlords must ensure that homes are free from hazards that may affect tenant health, including damp and mould.

Our laboratory supports compliance specialists working within:

  • Housing associations
  • Local authority housing
  • Supported living environments

We provide both water quality testing and mould analysis, supporting investigations into damp, mould growth, and potential water quality issues within residential properties. These services help housing providers demonstrate proactive environmental monitoring and support compliance with emerging housing safety legislation.

Our Water Testing Services

We offer an extensive range of microbiological analysis, including Legionella, TVC, Coliform/E.coli and Pseudomonas. Sample types include water, feeds, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and environmental samples. Chemical analysis includes a comprehensive range of parameters for both water hygiene and water treatment, including those for closed water systems.

We also conduct disinfectant efficacy testing to European Standards, principally BS EN 1276, 1499, 1500 and 13697.

All testing is undertaken by qualified staff.

Our UKAS accredited laboratory is operated 7 days a week and is available for sample delivery 6 days per week.
